Seal Rock State Recreation Site / Park is a great Oregon Coast beach for walking, rock scrambling, and tide pool critter exploring. Located right along Oregon Coast Highway 101 and near the town of Seal Rock, it first provides parking, picnic areas, and viewpoints before wandering down a short path to the beach below. Once at the beach, there are many options.

Castle, Tourist, and Elephant Rocks form prominent landmarks and backdrops to the Pacific Ocean waves. Some areas are restricted due to bird and wildlife sanctuaries, while others can be climbed on by nimble climbers. The wide and flat sandy beach goes south from there. It is best to time your visit near low tide, since the rocks and tide pools reveal many types of seaweed, small fish, sea anemones, sea stars, chitons, and more.
