The Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve is an arid but pretty coastal park in La Jolla California that offers great Pacific Ocean views and interesting adapted vegetation. There are multiple relatively short loop hike options, each of which ends in different view locations. The hikes generally start up higher and go lower toward the coast, with some mild up and down along the way. The land is dry and sparsely vegetated, but like many such areas there is interesting life when you take care to look.
